Change

Change.

Whenever I heard the word change, my mind use to be set to one thing and that one thing is oh no, not change.

As I have gotten older, I have learned that change is not as bad as it may seem. Change comes with daily living and in order to appreciate the many joys and pleasures that this life has to offer, we must adapt to change.

According to "Developing the Leader Within You" people normally fall into one of the below categories in regards to his/her response to change:

Innovators: They are originators of new ideas and generally are not acknowledged as leaders or policy makers

Early Adopters- They are those who know a good idea when they see one

Middle Adopters-They are the majority and will respond to the opinions of others

Late Adopters- The last group to endorse an idea and often speak against proposed changes and ma never verbally acknowledge acceptance

Laggards- Are always against change and their commitment is to the status quo and the past and often try to create division within the organization

Interesting uh?

I have been exposed to each category listed above. Have you? What category would you consider yourself to mostly identify with? Be honest.

I would have to most connect to being in the innovators group.

I always seem to try to find new ideas to bring to various groups but tend to never be acknowledge as the leader or developer of an idea or a concept. I felt this last September during the Jena 6 movement.

After picking up the phone and dialing up a nearby affiliated unit and setting up a lunch meeting between both Presidents of the unit and urging both to collaborate on at minimum the Jena 6 movement and getting individuals out on the streets to pass out flyers to individuals, businesses and sending out press releases, bringing countless informative news releasings to the group, I have yet to hear a simple, hey, that was a good idea by getting the two together and to be honest, I probably never will. Instead, I must continuously sit through speeches made by one party that continues to bolster how he was able to get over 400 people to march across a bridge. Those who know the truth, I thank you for all of your help.

November is sure to be a wonderful month.

It is like the good book says, what you do in secret, your heavenly Father sees and for me, that is more than good enough.
